About
Chiang Mai MS & HS Symposium
Hosted by
Prem Tinsulanonda International School & Artist Residence Thailand
An ISTA festival is an immersive theatre experience where young people collaborate, create, and perform in an international setting. Rooted in story-based inquiry, it fosters artistic exploration, cultural exchange, and personal growth.
At this unique environmental symposium in Chiang Mai, participants will explore themes of sustainability, harmony with nature, and the preservation of natural resources. In addition to ISTA’s signature ensemble-based theatre-making, students will engage in hands-on experiences—such as ploughing with buffaloes and creating biochar from agricultural waste—connecting deeply with the local community and environment. Guided by professional artists, students will examine how environmental changes impact daily life, developing their creativity, performance skills, and global awareness through a powerful fusion of theatre and ecological inquiry.
