ISTA Deep Dives are intensive festivals where young people immerse themselves in a focused area of theatre or performance. Unlike a traditional festival, Deep Dives offer a chance to explore specific practices, theories, and approaches under the guidance of expert artists and in partnership with specialist organisations. Through hands-on workshops, creative experimentation, and collaborative inquiry, learners deepen their understanding, expand their theatre-maker toolkits, and gain practical skills to enrich their artistic journeys

For this Deep Dive, participating schools will be asked to specify either Dance or Physical Theatre as a preference for each student at the time of registration, as ensembles will be created based on these preferences.

• ‍Dance ensembles will focus on learning choreography across different styles and explore storytelling through dance.‍
• Physical Theatre ensembles will explore storytelling through the body—both as individuals and as a collective ensemble.
